Inspiration from Dolphins’ 1972 perfection

Jared Odrick shows off his 1972 Dolphins perfect season hat.

On what the 40th anniversary of the 1972 Dolphins means to him: “It shows the team’s history and the franchise’s history, and what type of success they’ve had in the past. Also, what it means to this community to be successful. It’s a constant reminder of what we want to get back to.”

On if he draws any inspiration from the 1972 undefeated team: “Definitely. When guys get together for a common goal like that and they reach the pinnacle of football, not even just the NFL, but football overall, it’s special. Getting to the Super Bowl and winning it and going undefeated, it’s something that needs to be respected and it’s something that you want to emulate.”

On if he thinks another NFL team will ever be undefeated: “Yeah, it’s definitely possible. I mean, I’m not sure how far in the near future or not, but I think it will be possible. It’s very tough because of the consistency and the parity in the league. The league is really consistent in terms of talent throughout, in terms of coaching, in terms of players on the field. It will be tough, but I think it’s possible.”
